Our 5 Fold Purpose

Exalt God

Fulfilling the command of Mark 12:30 to love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. This is done in congregational worship by open expression of whole-hearted devotion to God. We are a congregation that passionately seeks God's presence. We endeavor to live this daily as individuals and families by a life-style of thankfulness to God and discipline ourselves to maintain a walk of closeness to God.

Edify His Body

Fulfilling the command of 1 Cor. 14:26, let all things be done for edification. We see Northwoods Christian Assembly as a place where people are built up, told who they are in Christ rather than who they are not. A place where we love our neighbor as ourselves. A user friendly church that is Grace oriented. We build up by esteeming, affirming, and encouraging them in Christ.

Equip His Saints

Fulfilling the command to go and make disciples of all nations. This is accomplished by helping each believer identify their gifts, passion, understand their personality, that they may rightly fit into the body. We teach believers to do! Every member is seen as a minister and we purpose to release them into their ministry. The leaders of the church train and equip others to minister and facilitate the process. Eph. 4:12; equipping the saints for the work of service.

Empower Leadership

True bibical leadership is servanthood. Jesus said the greatest leader is the one who is servant of all. We are training believers to be leaders by using their abilities to make others successful. Giving ourselves for another's success. He who humbles himself, God will exhalt. We purpose to train leaders and build a strong foundation for the church's future.  

Evangelize the world

Fulfilling the great commission by going into all the world and preaching the gospel to every creature. We purpose to nurture the believer to become outreach focused, to get them out of the pew and into the field, becoming bringers and includers, targeting groups and becoming fishers of men. Those who win souls are wise.

Northwoods' Mission Statement

We are to bring people of all ages to Jesus and into membership with His family, developing them into servanthood maturity and then we help equip them for their ministry in the church and their life mission in the world, in order to magnify the name of God.
